科学教育程度

The Science Education program is intended for students planning to be certified to teach Science in the Texas public school system as well as private schools.

The General Science 4-8 degree prepares students to teach grade-appropriate Science in 4th 通过8th grade in subjects such as General 生物学, 普通化学, 环境科学, 地质, 普通物理, 和天文学.

The 生命科学7-12 degrees prepare students to teach grades 7-12 in class assignments such as: Science, 生物学, 解剖学, 动物科学, 植物 & 土壤科学, 环境科学, 水产科学, Medical Microbiology, and 法医科学.

The Physical Science 6-12 degree prepares students to teach grades 6-12 in class assignments such as: Science, 化学, 物理, 工程设计 & Problem Solving, and Scientific Research & 设计.

The Science Composite 7-12 degree prepares students to teach grades 7-12 in class assignments such as: Science, 生物学, 动物科学, 植物 & 土壤科学, 解剖学, 环境科学, 水产科学, 法医科学, 化学, 物理, 工程设计 & Problem Solving, Scientific Research & 设计，天文学，地球 & Space Science, and Environmental Systems.

Candidates for our Teacher Preparation Programs must meet certain requirements outlined in our Admission 需求 document.

Students who complete this degree will be eligible to take the Texas certification test for one of the following certifications: General Science 4-8, Physical Sciences Composite 6-12, 生命科学7-12, 或Science Composite 7-12. These certifications lead to Science teaching positions in 4^th 12年级^th 年级.

The State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) and Texas Education Agency (TEA) Office of Accountability has awarded Hardin-Simmons University Teacher Education Program a rating of “Accredited” under the Accountability System for Educator Preparation authorized by Texas Education Code 21.045 every year since the rating of teacher preparation entities has been awarded. Educator preparation programs are held accountable for the performance of their graduates on the state credentialing examinations required for certification. Programs must achieve a minimum pass rate on the tests by disaggregated subgroups (All, 男性, 女, 白色, 拉美裔, 非裔美国人, Other) to receive a rating of “Accredited.”
